![Music has filled the halls of Country Manor for decades thanks to Lisa Weber — bringing comfort, joy, and sometimes even a moment of magic.
Lisa first joined our team in June of 1999, after answering a simple newspaper ad. What followed was 26 years of sharing her gift with residents, from birthday celebrations and weekly performances to quiet, meaningful moments at residents’ bedsides at the end of their lives.
“My specialty is playing for people who are transitioning...” Lisa shared. “I try to play THEIR songs.”
One moment that has always stayed with her happened while playing for a resident who hadn’t moved or spoken in nearly a full day.
“I started playing polkas - because that’s what she loved. Her hands shot straight up in the air, and she started clapping.”
During the height of COVID, when residents were isolated in their rooms, Lisa performed personalized virtual concerts, singing residents’ favorite songs over video calls so they could still feel connection and comfort.
Through it all, Lisa says one belief has always guided her:
“Through music, you can reach almost anyone.”
Residents, families, and staff have all felt the impact of Lisa’s kindness and music over the years.
While she may be officially retiring, we’re grateful she’ll still return as a regular guest musician to continue sharing her gift with residents.

Our Health Care & Rehab Center’s Hometown Christmas was the final large family celebration in a season full of magic—and it did not disappoint. This year’s celebration was truly one for the books—a week packed with gratitude, giveaways, and good times!
From daily surprises like specialty coffee, fresh-baked donuts, and sweet treats, to cash drawings every single day (nearly 100 lucky winners took home prizes ranging from $50 to $500!)—we pulled out all the stops to make sure our incredible team felt the appreciation they deserve.
And we wrapped up the week with a campus-wide celebration featuring a catered soup, salad, and sandwich bar, fun games, and more prizes to go around!
To each and every staff member—thank you for the care, compassion, and commitment you bring every day. You are the heart of who we are, and you truly deserve to be celebrated. ❤️

We were honored to have Veteran Will Pace—husband of our Life Enrichment Programmer, Crystal—lead our Senior Housing residents through a hands-on demonstration and taste-testing of an MRE (Meal, Ready-to-Eat). These shelf-stable meals are used by service members in the field, and the experience offered our residents a unique, eye-opening look into daily military life.

![Every so often, a conversation reminds us just how much history lives within our walls. This Veterans Day, we sat down with Arne, a resident of our Health Care & Rehab Center, whose quiet humility mirrors a lifetime of extraordinary service.
At just 17 years old, Arne stepped into the United States Air Force and began what would become a lifelong career. Serving in the medical wing and ambulance division, he helped set up hospitals and support medical operations—work that brought him to places all over the world and introduced him to people from every corner of it. These experiences broadened his understanding of humanity and shaped him in ways that still resonate today.
When asked which lesson from his time in service has stayed with him the longest, Arne doesn’t hesitate: “The value of being an American.” His time serving his country deepened his gratitude, sharpened his sense of responsibility, and gave him a connection to something larger than himself.

Every October, part of our Health Care & Rehab Center undergoes a spooktacular transformation. With a whole lot of creativity (and maybe a sprinkle of madness), our TR team turns an ordinary space into a haunted “fun” house—equal parts spooky and terrific.
For weeks, our talented crew plans, preps, DIYs, decorates, and dreams up every last detail to create an entirely new experience for residents each year. And once the set is built, the real magic begins. Our TR staff step into character and perform show after show as residents are guided through an immersive, unpredictable adventure—complete with surprises lurking behind every corner.
This year’s tour? Welcome aboard the S.S. Manor! ?️
This “luxury” cruise line offered only the finest amenities: a lavish pool/duck pond, an on-site bar shaking up cocktails so mysterious even the bartender couldn’t tell you what was in them, and an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring… eyeball soup. Bon appétit!
